WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Supervises a team of accountants that perform a variety of specialized accounting duties including general ledger entries, balancing and reconciling accounts, and analyzing significant ‘actual to budget’ monthly expense variances. Manage the preparation of financial statements and other financial related managerial reports. Lead and participate in departmental functions, assignments and projects. Lead audit and budgeting activities in collaboration with Executives, Department Managers and Supervisors.
- Manage GL team to meet monthly Accounting calendar deadlines and close process. Support the month-end close cycle by assisting with the GL team’s completion of tasks.
- Prepare, analyze and review monthly variance reports, financial statements, and other managerial reports.
- Review, approve and post monthly journal entries to the general ledger. Verify that entries have imported from subsystems completely and accurately. Analyze, and adjust variances of general ledger accounts.
- Lead the annual audit process and coordinate audit requests with the auditors and accounting team.
- Support the annual capital and operating budgeting process with department leads.
- Maintains cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements, and resource planning.
- Ensure the completion of monthly bank and account reconciliations for cash, AP, Payroll and GL accounts.
- Maintains financial security by developing and adhering to internal controls.
- Participate as a team member in special departmental or community-wide projects as assigned.
- Assess and recommend improvements in accounting and financial processes.
- Completes all compliance requirements.
- All duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Bachelor's Degree with concentration in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
- CPA or MBA with Concentration in Accounting preferred.
- Five to seven years of computerized accounting experience: preferably in the health care field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications.
- Ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated advanced Excel (spreadsheet) knowledge and skill to create management reports by effectively manipulating data and presenting it in an understandable and useful format.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills both personally and via telephonic communications.
- Demonstrated competencies in leadership, organization, and planning. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, react quickly under stringent time frames, and meet fixed deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sedentary work: must be able to perform computer work for six to eight hours per day, either standing or sitting.
- May be required to lift and move boxes up to 25 lbs.
