Job Summary
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing a range of accounting and clerical tasks related to the accounting function. This includes maintaining timely and accurate financial records, running reports and recording financial transactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work on subcontractor lien releases/subcontractor checks
- Assist in depositing AR checks and record all deposits (checks & EFTs) in Viewpoint.
- Assist in generating Weekly AR Aging Report to send out to PX's and executives.
- Client Invoice processing - print Application for Payment and Waivers, index, interface
- Update payment status notes in Viewpoint to latest notes entered by PA & alerts Financial Controller when notes are stale.
- Record PBS Disbursements in Viewpoint (HRA and Section 125 Pre-Tax Deferrals)
- Generate Certified payrolls for submission with client invoices.
- Assist with monthly BLS reporting.
- Assist with reconciling Union remittances and Payroll Taxes on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Review unemployment claims and send to HR.
- Assist in archive union vouchers and send out to employees.
- Assist Accounting team with ad hoc reporting and special projects.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business or currently obtaining degree
- Accounting experience in a corporate environment and/or Construction Industry experience preferred.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with detail orientation
