Summary of Accounting Associate Position

The Accounting Associate is responsible for the accounting functions related to commercial real estate properties and corporate entities. The Accounting Associate reports to the controller, and will have daily interactions with the property managers, property owners and vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements/reporting packages

· Perform a wide variety of accounting analyses

· Analyze various transactions and identify appropriate accounting treatments

· Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger

· Reconcile monthly bank statements to the general ledger

· Record and process accounts payable and accounts receivable

· Process cash receipts and prepare bank deposits

· Prepare common area maintenance and real estate tax reconciliations

· Monitor daily cash balances

· Verifies accuracy of the rent roll information and ensure all tenant billing and lease changes are entered in a timely manner

· Oversee and supervise the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations across multiple business units and payroll schedules

· Ensure all debt, real estate, tax and owner distribution payments are made in a timely manner and internal databases are maintained

Other

· Maintain open communication with management and property managers

· Has a “can do” productive self-motivated attitude, demonstrates initiative and suggests improved processes

· Assist management with special projects and other tasks as assigned

· Ordering office supplies and tracking/ordering inventory

Qualifications/Experience

Potential candidates should have at least two years of general accounting experience. Experience in real estate property accounting is preferred. In addition, the candidate should have excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft word, excel, QBO, experience with real estate accounting software is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,186.53 - $55,827.26 per year
