Job Description:

The Office for Research Development and Scholarly Activity is looking for a clinical research coordinator to assist with the development and expansion of clinical research at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine. Coordinates a clinical research program by identifying and assessing patients, distributing information, acting as a clinical resource, managing data, conducting follow-up care for patients, attending meetings pertaining to the program, and supervising program personnel. This position will report to the Assistant Dean for Clinical Research. This position may also report to other research PIs for various clinical research studies.

Essential Duties:

· Identifies patients who may be eligible to participate in the research program. Performs the initial assessment of potential patients.

· Obtains clinical history and completes patient data forms.

· Provides potential patients with study information.

· Obtains informed consent forms.

· Acts as the immediate clinical resource and the liaison between physicians, nurses, laboratory personnel, etc.

· Performs data management and data analysis.

· Responsible for the initiation, organization, and carrying out of patient follow-up.

· Assesses patients at all follow-up visits.

· Attends various meetings pertaining to the research program.

· May present information.

· May lead and train research personnel.

· Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

· Performs the initial assessment of potential patients. Takes clinical history and completes patient data forms.

· May performs physical exam, phlebotomy, or other testing procedures during the assessment. Manage and oversee process for compliance for human subjects research (e.g., IRB), grants management (e.g., ORA, GCA) and conduct of clinical research (e.g., Good Clinical Practice) in accordance with federal, state, institutional and other relevant regulations, laws, and policies.

· May participate in or manage multiple studies within the OU School of Community

· Working knowledge of clinical trials protocols

Job Requirements:

Required Education:

· Candidate must be a Registered Nurse, AND:

· 48 months of clinical practice, nursing, or research program coordination experience.

Working Conditions:

· Physical: Sitting for prolonged periods. Manual dexterity. Reaching, speaking, and listening.

· Environmental: Standard Office Environment.
