Job Description


This accountant position is hybrid, located in Englewood, CO. Our team works from their remote offices several days per week, but also must be able to come in to the main office on some days (schedule is flexible based on business needs).

Position Summary

Performs accounting functions for the Organization in accordance with industry standards as well as those practices set forth by the Organization. Responsibilities include bank reconciliation and journal entries, financial statement preparation, account reconciliation, and audit preparation.

Essential Duties

  • Performs bank reconciliations for operating/Payroll/security deposit and in some cases investment accounts for
  • all communities as assigned.
  • Tracks resident deposit activity, refunds, and deferred revenue schedules.
  • Assists in preparation of financial statements for the Organization, audits assets and liability accounts monthly
  • for balance accuracy. Prepares and posts journal entries for assigned communities.
  • Performs account audits monthly for PPD Expenses, Inter/Company, Accounts payable, Accounts
  • receivable and Security Deposit Accounts plus liability accounts as needed.
  • Assists with preparing schedules and other reports for the year-end audit. Works with the Controller to
  • complete all schedules for all communities as requested by the auditors.
  • Has a working knowledge of the following computer programs: Sage100/Word/Excel/RenovoFYI/Asset Keeper
  • Responsible for encouraging, participating, and integrating Masterpiece Living and Eden Alternative initiatives by
  • supporting successful aging and person-centered programs and culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Basic Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in accounting can be
  • substituted for a degree.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in a health care environment.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of accounting software and billing systems.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products including Excel and Outlook
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • Sits, stands, bends, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Must possess a Colorado driver’s license in good standing. Job may require occasional travel in and outside the state.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Frequently interacts with relevant stakeholders including team members, applicants, hiring managers, developers, consultants, brokers.
