Youth Summer Sports & Activity Camp Counsellor - Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Camp Director and Head Counsellor, the Camp Counsellor is responsible for the safety and well-being of AGS Campers during all programming time. The Camp counsellor will assist with the planning of activities; supervising campers; instructing and participating in games, songs, and crafts; perform first aid as needed and ensure appropriate documentation; respond to questions and concerns, and liaison with campers and their families.

What your summer may look like as one of our Camp Counsellors:

· Assist the Camp Director and Head Counsellor in overseeing Camp participants by facilitating safe, planned and fun activities

· Plan and prepare schedules, implement the activities of camp programs (Games, sports, activities, songs, crafts, etc.)

· Oversee camper drop off and pick up

· Follow and lead by example with regards to all

· Perform first aid as needed and report to the Camp Director for documentation

· Liaison with camper families, respond to inquiries and/ or concerns; resolve issues or refer to appropriate camp staff

· Work collaboratively with other counsellors, Camp Director and Head Counsellor to plan program content

NOTE: Camp begins June 12th through to August 18th

Experience & Skills

· Minimum of 1-year working or volunteering with toddlers, children and/ or youth in a related role

· Good organization and leadership skills

· Ability to deal courteously and effectively with campers, staff, families, and general public

· Enjoy leading activities or teaching skills to new people

· Good ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

· Capable of playing and having fun in busy and changing environments

· Valid First Aid and CPR certification

· Applicants must be at least 16 years of age

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Oakland Park, FL: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Childcare: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)

Shift availability:

  • Day Shift (Required)
