Exposure Project is an innovative Charlotte based non profit organization, providing youth an opportunity to engage in character development and exposure to career exploration through a hands-on approach. The Exposure Project is seeking dedicated team members to advance the mission of the organization and carry out objectives of the strategic plan.

Mission Statement: Exposure Projects mission is to equip middle and high school youth with the practical tools for career and character development by curating transformative experiences that impact future economic opportunities.

Program Planning:

Works with the Executive Director and support staff in order to fulfill the organization mission.

• Participate and facilitate meetings with project team leaders, facilitators, business leaders and others upon request.
• Planning of character development sessions, service learning projects, exposure trips, parent engagement activities, and shadowing weeks for participants. Inclusive of industry expert recruitment.
• Remain up-to-date on new developments, methods and techniques in the learning and development field.
• Engage with Executive Director, team members, and business leaders to ensure appropriate assessments/measurements are in place to assess impact and effectiveness of learning programs and make updates as necessary.
• Assist with organization campaigns as needed.
• Working through our curriculum to anticipate and provide guidance to participants as necessary.

Program Implementation:

• Communicate with parents as needed.
• Assist in facilitation of orientation and interviewing of families.
• Work with Admin staff to ensure that intake of participants are completed and appropriately stored in a timely manner.
• Facilitate character development sessions, service learning projects, exposure trips, parent engagement activities, and shadowing weeks for participants.
• Complete weekly updates and reports in a timely manner.
• Ensure safety of youth at all times.
• Build and maintain a positive environment for all youth.

Program Operations:

• Assist with collecting data and administering surveys
• Assist with organization development as needed.
• Cultivate relationships with community partners

Professional Qualifications:

• Two years of experience with older youth (Ages 13-18)

• Creative thinker with great energy and out of the box ideas.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and manage competing priorities.
• Demonstrates positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; strong planning and organizational skills.
• Takes initiative and is able to handle a high volume of work while adhering to deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and grow, coachable, and goal driven.
• Maintains professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Skills in team-building, relationship building, facilitation, collaboration and presentation.
• Ability to communicate orally and writing in a clear and straightforward manner.
• Ability to think critically, strategically and anticipate future trends, needs and expectations.
• Ability to work independently and with a group.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff
• Strong computer skills for administrative responsibilities.
• A leader in a teamwork environment.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Charlotte, NC 28203: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• working with youth: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
