Job description
We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Work Methods and Development Consultant at our Bluemound Training Center in the West Allis, Wisconsin location.
The position is part of a job family – Associate Consultant (Salary Level 4), Work Methods Consultant (5), Senior Consultant (6), and Principal Consultant (7). The level of the position being filled will depend on the selected candidate’s level of experience.
A hybrid work arrangement (remote/in office) is available for this position.
Job Summary
Job Responsibilities
- Facilitate and manage the Designer Apprentice Program for We Energies.
- Chair the Designer Joint Apprenticeship Committee (JAC) and organizes and facilitates the monthly meetings.
- Apply an understanding of business unit operations, needs, and goals as well as in depth knowledge of design methodology and adult learning to the design of training programs.
- Responsible for maintaining the Designer JAC guidelines and hour logs.
- Facilitate and manage the development and delivery of training, educational programs, and job aids for all designers.
- Point person for the LMS creation and documentation.
- Create and update the eLearning modules as needed.
- Create training PowerPoint presentations and job aids for Open C. Conduct Open C training for new hires as needed, and refresher training upon request.
- Be a contact and work with the Department of Workforce Development for the designer positions.
- Be a contact and work with the Veterans Administration for the designer positions.
- Consider implications and consequences from changes to business processes and systems to determine appropriate actions.
- Gather information from a variety of sources, using managers, operations supervisors, subject-matter experts, and company and regulatory policies and procedures to support development and maintenance of work methods and procedures.
- Prepare clear statements of behavioral objectives that describe the desired results of training.
- Manage design and development projects from initial contact and identification of need through the implementation of a solution to achieve agreed-upon results.
- Stay aware of current developments and trends in all relevant technical/professional knowledge areas.
Minimum Experience Required
- 2 years Operations or relevant experience
- Strong analysis, decision making and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints
- Experience working with project management methodology is beneficial
- Working knowledge of adult learning practices
- Demonstrated people and change leadership capabilities
