Server Windows/Linux Specialist

Houston, TX (Northwest Houston- 290/Beltway) Onsite from day 1

Long Term Contract

Position Description:

We are looking for a Server Specialist to work as part of the IT Infrastructure team to help manage and support our physical server environments. The primary focus of this position will be supporting server hardware, racks, and other related hardware in the datacenter as well as Windows and Linux Server support.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Windows server troubleshooting
• Server builds including racking, cabling, hardware installation and OS install.
• Server hardware inventory management
• Shipping and receiving server hardware deliveries.
• Coordinating the retirement of hardware and disposal of related materials
• Maintaining hardware storage spaces
• Writing and troubleshooting scripts for Windows and Linux
• Provide ad hoc support and troubleshooting.
• Document processes, guidelines, standards, and technical specifications
• Travel to remote sites within Texas when needed for server hardware support.

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• College Graduate in related field
• 2+ years of experience with Windows 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2019 operating systems preferred.
• 2+ years of experience with Linux CentOS, OL7 and OL8 operating systems preferred.
• Experience with Dell and HPE server support and architecture
• Exposure to virtualization technologies like VMware
• Development experience with Java, Python, PowerShell, JSON, REST is preferred.
• System automation using Ansible, Redfish and other tools is preferred.
• Ability to perform ad hoc support with strong analytical skills for troubleshooting.
• Ability to create documentation of processes, guidelines, standards, technical specifications, as well as drawing network and system architecture diagrams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skill
• 3-5yrs of experience
