Now hiring: Wave Planner for 2nd shift

About the ideal candidate:

• Previous wave planner experience preferred
• Experience with inventory research & resolution and customer service a plus
• AS400, SAP, and/or Oracle experience a plus
• Microsoft Office Suite - intermediate level
• Ability to work in a distribution warehouse environment

What we offer:

• Pay: $18.80 per hour (amount listed includes shift differential)
• Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Overtime as needed.

Overview:

The wave planner is focused on waving orders that are in the queue to ensure that they are tasked accordingly. This person is also responsible for researching and following up on open tasks to ensure orders are shipped on time.

Responsibilities:

• Work well independently and as a team
• Self-starter: Must stay ahead of carrier cut-offs
• Wave in a manner that tasks are completed in the correct priority sequence and users do not run out of work
• Wave at order cut off times to ensure we process all orders for that day
• Review the error queue and address issues accordingly
• Stock Order and Breakdowns cannot be mixed in the same wave
• Domestic and International orders cannot be mixed in the same wave
• Follow up on shortage waves/outstanding tasks so that orders meet carrier pick-up time

Critical Thinking:

• Control throughout by allocating resources as needed to different zones or notifying a supervisor to move resources
• Handling of “stragglers” uncompleted tasks that cause the order to remain “in picking”

Proper utilization of labor:

• Managing tasks/work so that the carrier pick-up times are met
• Facilitating work in all zones so that orders for a specific carrier are done at the same time
• Assign tasks for later priorities.

Monitoring User Activity:

• If users are not moving quickly on tasks, depending on the carrier, those tasks may need to be reassigned.
• If tasks are assigned by mistake to folks that are not here or have left for the day, they will need to be reassigned.
• Spread orders with large number of tasks across multiple users

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
• Knowledge of inventory control and general warehouse procedures
• Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
• Ability to learn and utilize on board computers, scanners and new technology
• Ability to work within a warehouse environment
• Ability to write legibly
• Must have basic math skills
• Ability to make decisions on customer acceptance based on past experience and fitness for use
• Must have attention to detail for continuous mental and visual attention
• Data entry skills
• Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner
• Must have attention to detail for continuous mental and visual attention
• Steel-toed shoes required

• 1-2 years warehouse or related work experience preferred
