Position Summary
- Responsible for the warehouse dock logistics of incoming and outgoing material for the Dayton facility and is considered a subject matter expert in the shipping & receiving functions.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, packages and verifies the accuracy of outgoing vendor shipments
- Receives all incoming material for the Dayton facility and reports defective materials or questionable product conditions to supervision
- Ensures all required paperwork, labels and other documentation are prepared and accurate for final shipment
- Responsible for driving LORD owned vehicle to deliver and pickup product
- Distributes MRO supplies throughout the facility
- Coordinates inventory and replenishment of packaging and other shipping related materials
- Stages product for after hour pickups in support of inter-plant deliveries
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and break down cardboard for recycling
- Trains others by transferring part, process and equipment knowledge
- Develop and update departmental work instructions
- Recognizes paperwork and/or system errors and can resolve by applying knowledge of processes
- Coordinates shipment times with local carries as needed
- Applies rust preventive to outgoing product as needed
- Supports other areas of the Warehouse as needed
- Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures
- Other assignments as required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of warehouse experience required
- Proficient with navigation of FEDEX, UPS and other carrier websites required
- Must be able to obtain forklift certification required
- Must possess valid driver's license in order to operate company vehicle required
- Able to communicate effectively with management, and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork
- Commitment to and demonstration of LORD Performance Principles
- Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function in the Warehouse as needed
- Must be dependable and available to work varied hours and extended hours on short notice as required
- Understands and demonstrates comprehension of routers and Manufacturing Work Instructions
- Self-motivated and ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision
- Ability to carry/ lift up to 35 lbs. (50% of the time). Must have the ability to stand, kneel, squat, stoop, use fingers and hands to feel, lift or handle tools, parts and equipment.
- 5 + years Shipping & Receiving and/or Warehouse experience preferred
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP system for Warehouse related transactions preferred
Position grade is O2-O3 depending on experience.
