POSITION SUMMARY:

The Material Handler 4 role in the Distribution Center (DC) is responsible for performing a variety of DC functions based on the needs of the business, including but not limited to receiving merchandise into the Warehouse Management System using an RF scanner in a manner that meets company established standards in safety, quality, and productivity. This role may physically sort and distribute cases of merchandise onto store pallets in accordance with Company standard operating procedures, in order to achieve the productivity, safety and quality standards established by the Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accurately complete and submit daily productivity sheet
• Receive and sort merchandise into warehouse inventory with real time RF scanner, reporting shortages, overages, and damages
• Verify accuracy of freight by inspecting samples of each product
• Ensure pallets are properly built with no overhang or height restriction violations
• Work in compliance with standard operating procedures, audit-control procedures, and OSHA requirements
• Maintain neat, orderly and clean work area to meet or exceed area safety, quality, and productivity standards
• Perform Lumping, Running, Splitting
• Understand and complete TI- HI and C/P on Worksheets
• Ensure Live Loads are off loaded within a two hour Period to avoid detention Charges
• Scan Multiple Loads at once for different teams unloading Containers and check the seal on loads outside

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of Power Equipment Training, Receiving Area Training, and associate proficiency test
• Ability to operate industrial powered equipment and attain any associated licensing
• Ability to physically unload merchandise and operate technology such as an RF scanner
• Ability to multitask while maintaining a strong attention to detail
• Ability to meet area productivity, quality, safety, housekeeping and attendance standards
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; Spanish a plus
• Interpersonal and communication skills as required for a team environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work primarily in a distribution center environment. Must be able to remain stationary and/or continually move for up to 10 - 12 hours per day.
• Responsible for physical activities including using equipment, position self to properly complete tasks, ascend and descend to heights of 20 feet or more, move and transport merchandise on a frequent basis: should be able to lift and move 70 lbs of material on a regular basis.
• The warehouse environment is characterized by temperature extremes, noise, movement of conveyors and equipment, and other conditions associated with the operation of a high volume distribution center.
