As the VISTA Leader for the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation, you'll be a key player in supporting our growing nonprofit organization. In this role, you'll collaborate with the AmeriCorps and Community Service Manager to improve the recruitment and retention of AmeriCorps positions. You'll maintain an applicant database, update and disseminate position descriptions, and conduct interviews with eligible candidates. In addition, you'll be responsible for enhancing the professional development opportunities available to VISTA members at our organization, as well as at Lahontan Audubon Society, City of Reno, and Help Save the Bees. As a VISTA Leader, you'll provide support to VISTAs through one-on-one meetings, resource sharing, and promoting a culture of service. You'll also help improve our data collection procedures and sustainability plans, ensuring that we're making a lasting impact in the community. Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is a private nonprofit that was incorporated in 2012 and received its 501(c)(3) determination in 2013. The Parks Foundation protects and enhances our communities' livability through public engagement, education, and the sustainability of our parks, open spaces, and trails. Current programs focus on improving community health and wellness and developing people’s appreciation for the natural and cultural history found in local parks.
