Asbury University is looking for a qualified candidate for a Full-Time, In-Person, Visiting Professor position in Creative Writing.

POSITION: The Department of English at Asbury University invites applications and nominations for a one-year, full-time, in-person, visiting professor position in Creative Writing beginning August 2023.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach 24 credit hours (4-4 course load) in an academic year (upper- level courses in Creative Writing and Foundational courses).

DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH INFORMATION: The Department of English has over 350 undergraduate students participating in its programs, including 60 majors and minors. The Department of English offers Bachelor of Arts Degrees in English and Creative Writing, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in English Education. Its journal of student writing and art, The Asbury Review, is published fall and spring. Asbury University is located in Kentucky’s scenic Bluegrass region, fifteen minutes south of Lexington. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have an earned MFA degree in Creative Writing. A commitment to academic excellence and spiritual vitality is necessary, with faculty innovation and creativity highly valued. Candidates must be in harmony and compliance with Faith, Mission, and Community Lifestyle Standards.

COMPENSATION: Compensation is competitive and dependent upon education and experience. Benefits include retirement (TIAA/CREF) and insurance plans.
