JOB SUMMARY:
The Lead Patient Service Coordinator provides clerical and administrative services to the Vanderbilt Lung Screening Program (VLSP) Practitioner by assisting patients with incoming calls about the program, scheduling lung screening exams and follow-up appointments, providing insurance/pre-auth support, tracking follow-up care, data entry into software tracking programs, and serving as a positive and helpful resource to patients for lung care navigation. This position will have dual reporting lines to the NLI Front Desk Manager and the VLSP Practitioner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1. Accept incoming calls from potential patients2. Schedule/reschedule lung cancer screening exams3. Check schedule in advance and contact patients to confirm LCS qualifications/insurance4. Request orders from providers, check orders for accuracy5. Arrange peer-to-peer pre-auth calls with APC6. Track follow-up imaging and appointment compliance7. Contact cancellations/no-shows for rescheduling8. Print/mail result/reminder/now-show letters
- 9. Arrange referrals and track appointment compliance with Lung Nodule Clinic, follow-up diagnostic testing for incidental findings10. Data entry to LungView for ACR compliance and research11. Track procedures completed and cancer diagnoses; enter pathology reports to LungView12. Follow-up with patients on smoking cessation plans, referrals to Quitline and research13. Assist with administrative/clerical needs of future research projects14. Other duties identified to assist the VLSP Practitioner achieve a high level of program efficiency and productivity

High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) and 3 years • Minimum three (3) years of administrative experience, including one year with a health care organization• Strong computer skills, especially Outlook and MSOffice• Able to work unsupervised, meet deadlines, and maintain patient tracking systems updated in a timely manner
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):
