Avery is looking for a Video Production Specialist to join our design team. Who would be the ideal candidate? You will report to the creative director and collaborate with the video production team. The role is to interpret a creative brief into a storyline that’s engaging, communicates key concepts and delivers on the business objective of the video. You will create an outline, create a storyboard and shot list, prepare props, prep scenes, leads the video shoot, works closely with the photographer to shoot and select footage, then collaborates with the video editor to ensure timing and visual quality meets expectations. You will need to create stills, infographics or motion graphics as needed. They work as a team but function as the creative voice to ensure visual consistency and quality, and drives the video projects through to completion.

The right candidate will have strong communication skills, strong visual design skills, and demonstrate a knowledge of video styles, visual trends and video best practices. They will have experience creating a variety of video styles for various uses and platforms, such as social media, ecommerce, instructional and how-to videos, and fun promotional videos. They will be comfortable in the pre-production and production workflow and have practical, demonstrable experience in bringing ideas to life through video.

What you will need to be successful:

• Collaborate with e-commerce team and product mangers to capture objectives and interpret them into effective stories.
• Develop storyboards that bring ideas to life in creative and engaging ways. Use those storyboards to gain alignment with our internal customers and communicate the visual direction to the photographer and video editor.
• Plan shoot schedule in collaboration with the photographer. Align on lighting plans.
• Select props and prepare products.
• Stage shoots and scenes.
• Select hand pick footage and stills.
• Work with the video editor to select transitions, ensure correct timing and provide any new creative assets they require.
• Estimate scope and timing for pre- and post-production tasks. Ensure projects are on track for an on-time delivery.
• Stay up-to-date on visual trends and motion graphic styles.
• Collaborate with the creative director and creative leads to contribute new ideas and implement new methods for creating engaging media.
• Experience with Premier Pro, After Effects and Audition are a plus.
• Experience in a fast-paced, deadline driven creative environment a plus.
• Experience using project management tools such as Workfront to track tasks and project status a plus.
• Good communication skills, a creative spirit, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently when necessary is a must.
