This position is responsible for installation, maintenance, and capacity planning for technical security systems. Maintains database for crime reporting and coordinates with law enforcement investigations by outside agencies. This position may be classified as a safety sensitive position subject to the rules and regulations of the Drug and Alcohol policy and may be an armed sworn position under CRS 16-2.5-146.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversees the collection of video evidence from facilities, light rail vehicles and buses. Reviews incidents and records pertinent data onto DVD/CD.
- Archives video data relating to claims and criminal activity while maintaining a chain of custody for all video evidence.
- Coordinates with local law enforcement agencies and testifies in court as needed.
- Conducts access control investigations in response to requests from management.
- Prepares statistical reports.
- Prepares and provides training to employees, contractors and outside agencies in the retrieval and review of video from recording equipment
- Completes active surveillance operations and reports criminal incidents to Transit Police Dispatch.
- Review requests for video and complete case reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, public administration, management, criminal justice or related field preferred.
- A minimum of three years experience in a security position including experience with CCTV operations & video investigations.
- License and certification through Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) and intermediate level NIMS certification preferred.
- Proficiency in all aspects of the investigations process.
- Proficient with the criminal justice system; includes federal, state, and local law enforcement regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to use sound judgment.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
