Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer of North America, the VP of Manufacturing will be responsible for the production, continuous improvement, materials management/planning safety, quality, people development, inventory, and operations planning (SIOP).
This position is a key member of the operation’s executive leadership team responsible for 6-8 manufacturing plants. The VP of Manufacturing will work closely with counterparts in business unit and functional leadership to deliver superior operational performance across the organization, with an emphasis on driving efficiencies through manufacturing excellence strategies via Lean/Continuous improvement methodologies.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop and implement operational business plans, strategies and organization designs that are consistent with short- and long-term company goals and objectives.
  • Establish goals, performance metrics and improvement initiatives focused on continual improvement and reduction of process variation. Use his/her expertise and acumen in plant management to lead a team and drive cross-function collaboration to achieve key metrics.
  • Serve as a strategic leader by establishing team direction, schedules, and key objectives, with a focus on driving and executing Lean Sigma/ Continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ensure that financial productivity and plant cost saving projects are successfully executed.
  • Maximize synergies within manufacturing operations to reduce cost, eliminate redundancies and improve processes and product flow.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the plants. Build a great working environment for engaged team members. Attract, develop, retain, and motivate talent.
  • Lead all aspects in creating an incident-free safety culture within all plant locations.
  • Develop and execute long-term plans for the expansion and growth of the manufacturing division.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply of raw materials, wip and finished products.
  • Prepare and present monthly reports on manufacturing KPIs and metrics to senior management.
  • Propose investment to maintain manufacturing effectiveness and drive quality and productivity.
  • Evaluate the organizational structure and talent of the organization and make appropriate changes.
  • Drive culture change, champion data-driven decisions to achieve excellence in problem solutions, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute long-term plans for the expansion and growth of the manufacturing department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in manufacturing management, operations, business, engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a leadership role in manufacturing.
  • Experience leading and building a team of managers/leaders.
  • Proven track record of increasing efficiency and productivity in a manufacturing setting with the ability to handle parallel work streams.
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
