Job Description


Experian’s Consumer Information Services (CIS) team is looking for a Vice President for Data, Cloud, and Security engineering leader. This role requires a candidate who is experienced in thought leadership, cloud, data & security engineering responsibilities, and who builds tools and products to improve data accuracy and continuously lead cloud and security efforts. We are looking for a person with the relevant experience, intellect, and leadership to manage and scale this organization as required to support business growth. Collaboration with other teams and adherence to prescribed timelines is paramount to success. In addition, the role needs technical leadership to leverage the latest technologies, automation, and platform innovation mindset to drive business value.

You will work independently and with other engineering leaders, software engineers, architects, technical program managers, and product leaders and are responsible for applying your broad and deep knowledge of platform security and big data. Success means designing seamless solutions for our Data Platform, the most trusted enterprise platform, and integrating our extensive array of data and tools into comprehensive, scalable solutions. This executive position will lead the security management, data, and cloud efforts, while driving operational risk management activities to improve security, data governance, and operational posture. This role will collaborate with Experian’s global security, compliance, and risk teams and will also be responsible for data protection and handling operations.

The candidate must possess the ability to effectively communicate observations and action plans to leadership and engineers at various levels across the organization. They must also possess the ability and desire to be at the forefront of customer interactions on behalf of Experian’s security interests. This leader will be execution-oriented and will collaborate with Platform engineering teams to drive Elasticity, Scalability, and Standardization across multiple tech stacks while partnering with auditors as it relates to data privacy regulations and audit programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the successful delivery and implementation of Experian’s threat-informed multi-hybrid cloud security strategy.
  • Hands-on expertise on cloud, data and security strategy and collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure we innovate every step of the way.
  • Engage with the diverse, global community of executives, strong technical experts, innovative developers, architects, and engineers, while continuing to align the global cloud security strategy to support the business and technology objectives.
  • Perform Security architecture reviews & threat modeling exercises for business applications and lead resolutions to secure applications.
  • Led Experian’s global cloud security and tech transformation strategy by building and driving a team of security architects and engineers focused on the engineering of critical automated security capabilities into Experian’s enterprise CI/CD pipelines and muti-hybrid cloud environment.
  • Manage the hiring, mentoring, and growing of a strong team of cloud security professionals who deliver exceptional outcomes for Experian while engaging and collaborating well across the organization.
  • Deep understanding of core concepts for Public/Private/Hybrid clouds (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, risk compliance, security, identity, and access management)
  • Drive team towards standards and reference architectures that support design patterns warranted across various cloud service providers.
  • Provide key input and feedback on cloud/hybrid security architectures, tooling, and solutions.
  • Effectively communicates to executive management, technology and finance sponsors the status of programs, projects, and issues as they relate to cloud security.
  • Platform mindset with focus on standardization, elasticity, scalability, and costs.

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • 10+years of relevant hands-on industry experience in cloud and people management
  • 3+ years of experience in evaluating cloud solutions and architectures for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services.
  • Extensive experience in information security and IT risk management with a focus on security, performance, and reliability
  • Established record of strong technical leadership operating at scale on AWS/Cloud infrastructure with highly available platforms.
  • Experience with on-prem and public cloud AWS/GCP/Azure deployments to provide innovative solutions.
  • Experience with modern technology stack in the areas of Cloud, API, Microservices, and re-platforming
  • Proven success in developing teams that work on large scale data infrastructure and demonstrated engineering excellence.
  • Exposure to technology transformations, championing changes across various software development life cycles, including Agile, DevSecFinOps, and SRE
  • Demonstrated excellence in effectively scaling the engineering organization through hiring and organizational design. Strong passion for the people and culture side of engineering organizations. Mentors and develops future leaders.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in business, computer science, information technology or other related major required.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Has successfully led and managed a diverse global team of cloud experts by inspiring innovative thought leadership and driving to execution.
  • Possession of deep technical & analytical prowess to problem solving, define risk, identify potential threats, and develop action/mitigation plans.
