US Crop Science Accounting Business Partner





YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support Head of Global Seeds & US CS BP to ensure correct and on- time HBII reporting for assigned legal entities
  • Maintain close contact to Global Accounting on relevant sub-group topics related to R&D, Reporting, and Restructuring topics, EBITDA effects and/or risks and opportunities; provide monthly analysis as it relates to expense fluctuation and cash flow data validation
  • Act as main accounting representative for internal US R&D organization.
  • Ensures a smooth communication flow between Accounting Stakeholders and across the different parts of the Global Accounting organization. Delivering fast feedback, translating business transactions into “Accounting language" and always having a broader view of the communication requirements in a Global organization.
  • Supports and consults with Crop Science Division and the business in their decision processes by providing accounting impact of various options on business results
  • Representing US Accounting, tackling topics from an end-to-end perspective and involving adjacent functions as required
  • Ensure a close link and involvement in relevant topics with key business functions (e.g., Finance Business partner, R&D, Accounting platform) including organizing regular formal and informal meetings with the business, building relationships and networking; coordinate and drive monthly pre-alignment on topics to ensure smooth monthly close
  • Assess major accounting topics in these areas and provide guidance and answers including writing accounting memos (whitepapers)

• Prepare / support CS portion of annual HBI impairment test • Collaborate with US Perf Mgmt to analyze and accurately adjust monthly advanced payment liability.

  • Ensure the quality of financial reporting by complying with relevant financial reporting guidelines
  • Review and assess CS contracts for potential accounting risks; coordinate with proper colleagues to monitor and mitigate risks identified
  • Act as main point of contact for CS with external auditors to ensure completion of year-end audit
  • Support/steer projects in the area of Accounting/Division projects

Required Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance and leadership experience;. • Public accounting and internal audit experience is desirable

  • Good business acumen, i.e. sound understanding of the business, business models, and products
  • Develops alternative solutions to problems; handles complex problems independently
  • Identifies and anticipates potential problems and demonstrates strategic thinking to implement solutions independently
  • Open-minded personality with strong communication skills and ability to act as advisor to the Division to combine business related questions with accounting impacts
  • Has the ability to build trustful relationships across all levels of the organization and also across subgroups

• Managerial courage to constructively challenge issues and decision makers • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex accounting matters to non-financial management

  • Experienced in multi-disciplinary project management

Preferred

MBA and CPA highly preferred
