Job Summary:
The Treasury Associate supports Treasury team members in day-to-day Treasury operations, including cash management, internal reporting, and bank account management. The company has experienced significant growth in recent years, and we are expanding the Treasury team to handle the continued growth and complexities of the Treasury function at Cooper. The responsibilities listed below may vary from time to time and the position may focus on specific areas and/or be assigned according to geographic region.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Cash Operations
- Gain and develop understanding of Cash Management concepts.
- Reconcile U.S. daily cash/debt balances and make recommendations on debt pay-downs or borrowings.
- Compile inputs from AP, AR, Payroll, & Tax teams on expected cash inflows or outflows.
- Input data in the Treasury workstation.
- Prepare and distribute monthly report to General Ledger Accounting.
- Utilize bank systems to prepare and initiate bank wires.
- Validate internal bank account database against external bank reports.
- Support the preparation of bank account documentation for the opening, closing, and maintenance of global bank accounts.
- Provide support for the monthly intercompany netting process.
- Reporting
- Support preparation of various reports including global balances, foreign exchange rates, bank fees, and interest expense/income.
- Maintain support for cash transactions.
- Up to 25% of time may be dedicated to work outside of the above responsibilities.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, including command of English language for reading,
writing, and comprehension with ability to communicate with diverse populations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of information, with strong organization skill and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities and responsibilities
- Intermediate skill in the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Advanced preferred.
- Strong analytic skills and investigation skills.
- Professional demeanor.
- Interest in learning Treasury concepts through guided training and self-study.
Work Environment:
- Prolonged sitting and standing in front of a computer in a well-lit, air-conditioned office.
- Frequently required to use a telephone, computer, copier, and scanner.
- Professional office environment.
- Fast-paced environment.
Experience:
- 0-2 years’ experience required; finance-related internship(s) and relevant coursework preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or related field required.
