Job description
This position will work in the Community Care Services (CCS) area within the Community Services (CS) division.
The CCS Training Specialist IV delivers virtual (online) and classroom-based training to CCS staff. Work involves assessing and analyzing training needs in the CCS division; development of curricula and revisions, delivering training, and coordinating continuous learning activities. This includes Basic Skills Training (BST), Continuing Skills Training (CST) for CCS programs and for the professional development of staff. Adapts to a variety of learning styles and demonstrates the ability to effectively transfer knowledge to participants. Works under the supervision of the CCS Training Specialist V with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Willingly accepts other assignments that contribute to the organization’s mission, values, and goals.
Develops and facilitates training programs and workshops for both internal and external customers; works with and speaks to agency, community, and professional groups to coordinate, improve, and stimulate interest in organizational services and to increase involvement in agency initiatives.
Designs and prepares curricula and course outlines, and develops or selects instructional methods, training aids, manuals, and other materials. Participates in program planning to identify issues relevant to training and develop strategies for implementing training appropriate to organizational needs.

Knowledge of Community Care Services (CCS) programs such as Community Attendant Services, Primary Home Care, Family Care, Home Delivered Meals, Emergency Response Systems, etc., is preferred.
Knowledge of and experience in designing curriculum for adult education to align with the principles of adult learning.
Skill in applying adult training principles and in producing and delivering training or presentations.
Skill in assessing the impact of major changes in policy, processes, and procedures on existing operations and in assessing the need for training.
Skill in communicating verbally and in writing.
Skill in the use of the personal computer and the Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
Skill in decision making and classroom management for quality learning outcomes for field staff.
Skill and experience in the application of project development, evaluation, and assessment as it relates to adult education.
Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts.
Ability to devise solutions to problems.
Ability to develop and evaluate training materials.
Ability to multitask, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Ability to organize tasks and adequately prepare for training delivery assignments.
Ability to deliver training for trainers in adult learner techniques for quality curriculum delivery.

Recent experience in Community Care Services Eligibility (CCSE) programs.
Ability to travel 50% of the time with frequent overnight stays.
Experience in producing and presenting educational curricula for training sessions, workshops, or presentations.
Experience presenting information to an audience.
Experience in the use Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, etc., and systems such as SASO, TIERS.
