The Trailer Technician will provide support to our entire fleet of vehicles, trailers, various types of machinery/equipment and tooling in both Service and Manufacturing according to DOT and other regulatory requirements to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all company vehicles and equipment.

The Mechanic will diagnose component malfunctions and initiate repair actions, repair components by replacing worn or damaged parts with new or reconditioned parts, correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub- assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, brakes, hubs, bearings, seals, electrical, fuel, steering, hydraulics; control linkages, clutches, and traction units, etc., and may provide mechanical assistance at vehicle breakdown sites.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform repairs and routine to complex preventative maintenance on various types of fleet vehicles, equipment, and tooling in support of Service and Manufacturing operations.
  • Keep up-to-date logs of all maintenance and communicate upcoming needs to be scheduled accordingly.
  • Clean, organize, and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
  • Inspect and evaluate results to ensure consistency and quality of finished work.
  • Work collaboratively with others to order and receive parts and supplies as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all established safety (OSHA) and environmental policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous wastes.
  • Complete required paperwork and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Provide and maintain your own basic mechanical tooling necessary to perform / complete most of the job responsibilities. Specialty tooling will be provided as needed and/or based on feasibility.

Skills/Experience/Education:

  • High School diploma and/or formal trades training preferred; however, willing to give the right candidate an opportunity based on experience, knowledge, and skills.
  • Proven experience successfully servicing and maintaining multiple types of trucks, vehicles, trailers, equipment, and tooling and demonstrated automotive, mechanical, and technical aptitude.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record to meet insurance requirements.
  • Proficiency in English with verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficient in planning and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
