Therapist – Part Time
- Part Time/Non-Exempt: 29-hours a week
- Schedule: Must be able to work flexible schedule; primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend hours, as required by program needs.
- $38.00/Hr.
Description
The Bridge is looking for a therapist responsible for providing therapeutic intervention for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking. Develops interdisciplinary therapeutic plan to assist in crisis resolution by conducting initial assessment with clients impacted by domestic violence and/or sexual assault. Evaluates family goals toward self-sufficiency by conducting on-going assessments and family/individual counseling. Prepares clients dealing with domestic violence and sexual assault by providing preparation and coping methods through diagnostic and treatment procedures; providing information regarding the impact of domestic violence and sexual assault; minimizing psychological trauma.
Provides opportunities for client based experiential learning by conducting home visits to observe clients and provide constructive feedback on interpersonal skills. Provides legal advocacy by accompanying clients to court hearings, testifying as an expert witness, and debriefing clients after court appearances.
Answers 24-hour crisis hotline to provide crisis intervention to callers, as well as information and referrals to callers in need of services outside scope of agency’s programs. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications on social work; establishing personal networks; benchmarking latest psychological practices; participating in professional societies. Contributes to overall Bridge mission by assisting with awareness events and community projects as requested and accomplishing related results as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling.
- Must be a licensed counselor in the State of Texas – LMFT, LPC.
- Bilingual, English/Spanish – preferred, not required.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule; primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend hours, as required by program needs.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with at-risk populations.
Other Requirements
- Must pass criminal background investigation check
- Must pass drug screen
- Must provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License
- Must provide and maintain clean driving record and annually update driving record
- Must provide and maintain current auto liability insurance
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be able to lift/carry (40) lbs, and ascend/descend stairs in emergency shelter setting.
