MHA of Columbia Greene is seeking a full time Therapist for the Child Advocacy Center (CAC). This position is 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, weekends and evenings may be needed for outreach events, forensic interviews, medical examinations, and hot line coverage. The CAC’s mission is to reduce trauma, provide expert medical care and enable collaboration among organizations in the investigation, prosecution and treatment of child abuse. As a therapist for the CAC duties will include develop and facilitate therapeutic services and provide advocacy for forensic interviews; provide services to child victims of abuse and their family/caregivers; provide crisis intervention services; and other duties. Annual salary between $55,000 and $60,000.
Requirements:
Candidates must possess a Masters Level License in the mental health field with experience in specialized trauma-informed mental health services for child victims of abuse and their caregivers. Candidates must have strong knowledge of child welfare system, community agencies, victim advocacy and understanding of partnerships with multidisciplinary teams. Must possess the ability to work with adults and children with social, emotional, and behavioral differences with an understanding of cultural family differences and values while remaining non-judgmental. Must have knowledge of crime victims’ rights, mental health and legal systems. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills including written, oral, public speaking, including the use of computers and smartphones.
