Telephone Interviewers Needed!
The benefits to working as a Telephone Interviewer at a premier urban research institution at Wayne State University include:
- Flexible part-time hours: Work a minimum of 20 hours per week with a possibility of up to 40 hours per week; evening and weekend shifts available (one Saturday or Sunday shift is required) in the CATI Lab. This is an in-person position, and schedules will be assigned based on your preferred availability.

- Competitive pay: Telephone Interviewers have an excellent starting wage of $13 to $15 per hour, depending on experience and/or bilingual skills (Spanish or Arabic).
- Professional development: Upon completion of training on protection of human participants, you will be certified under the University’s IRB (institutional review board).

Position Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish contact with potential respondents and conduct interviews via telephone and computer.
- Data entry and organization of responses
- Other related duties as required
Candidate Profile:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to present authorization to work in United States & pass a background check
- Experience conducting telephone interviews, preferably with residential households.
- Good computer skills; able to use a Windows-based system.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and enunciation; phone personality; excellent phone etiquette required.
- Ability to follow all standard operating and project-related procedures. Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Must be able to focus on relevant tasks (consistent calling, accurately assign codes to call records, etc.).
- Bilingual (Arabic and Spanish) speakers are desired, but must also be proficient in English.
- Must be available to work minimum in-person hour requirements each week, with evenings and weekends as needed.
In addition to meeting specific job requirements, all employees hired for this position must present evidence of their identity and authorization to work in the United States (I-9 documentation) and undergo a background check.
