Job description
Position Summary:
Teen Associates are members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) whose participation in work-based learning programs grants them access to paid summer and school year positions within the Clubs. Teen Associates perform various functions within the Clubs, including but not limited to:
- Assisting in the delivery of youth programs, activities, and events, such as distributing program materials, tutoring members, etc., as directed by your supervisor.
- Assisting in the supervision of members in the program area and throughout the Club, as appropriate, to ensure member safety, and reporting any disciplinary or other issues to your supervisor, etc.
- Assisting younger members with program rotations, and lining up for transitions, mealtimes, and other events throughout the Club.
- Participating in collaborative programs and events with staff from other departments, Clubs, and community organizations, as directed by your supervisor.
- Securing and maintaining materials, equipment, and other resources belonging to the program area; maintaining a safe and clean program space.
- Other related duties as specified by your supervisor.
Position Requirements:
- Complete 11-hours of training on topics including basic supervision of other youth, recognizing child abuse, youth worker rights, behavioral expectations, social media and internet safety, and others prior to your start date.
- Participate in work-based learning programs, such as Ready to Work and College/Next Steps Club, at your Club, as directed by your supervisor.
- Participate in individual and group supervision sessions.
- Experience and/or interest in working with youth is preferred.
