We are looking for a Technical Compliance Manager (m/f/d) at our European headquarters in Mainz-Mombach, Germany. This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced and growing team for our newest bike assembly line.

As the Technical Compliance Manager, you will work closely with our quality, product development and legal teams to ensure legal conformity for all of our products.

We are looking for someone with technical acumen, a background in compliance and a passion for driving results so we can get more people on bikes!

WHAT DOES YOUR DAY JOB LOOK LIKE?

• Manage bicycle and ebicycle conformity and certification for Europe and other regions
• Research and understand current and future standards and regulations for the EU and individual countries both within the EU and outside the EU
• Develop and execute effective conformity plans ensuring products meet all company and government requirements and regulations
• Prepare technical documents for CE conformity
• Manage and monitor all required technical documentation, such as 3rd party test reports, internal test reports, supplier test reports, supplier Declarations of Conformity, including risk analyses, etc.
• Work closely with 3rd party test labs to ensure conformity testing is completed on time
• Work with local standards committees
• Conduct patent searches and ensure conformity of patent with the support of an external patent attorney
• Ensure compliance with government and corporate regulations, company SOPs, directives, and technical manuals to establish and maintain high quality standards

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• 2 years of technical compliance experience or certifications/education in technical writing or technical compliance for EU
• Experience with writing technical documents in an international work environment
• Experience with technical topics and managing multiple documentation projects
• An affinity for cycling and are familiar with bike terminology
• Fluent in German and English verbal and written communication
• Experience with CE conformity certification for machinery and electrical equipment
• Knowledge of EN1594, ISO 4210, and similar specs
• Knowledge of bicycles and ebicycles across different segments such as full suspension mountain, hardtail mountain bikes, gravel and CX bikes, and road bikes
• Experience reading and interpreting industry standards, government regulations, and test reports
• Highly organized and experience tracking and delivering multiple projects at a time
