The Portland Game Store has been a fixture on Killingsworth for the last 7 years, providing the community with a place to play games and connect with friends. We offer a wide range of the best board games, RPGs, miniatures games, and trading card games available. Our play area has a full slate of events across a variety of games means there is always something happening!
We are currently looking to add a TCG Specialist to our team. While this is primarily a back of house role this person will be expected to assist with front of house duties during busy times.
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of Magic the Gathering
- 3+ years experience grading and valuation of MtG singles
- Familiarity with TCGPlayer.com and its seller systems
- Familiarity with other card games i.e. Pokemon, Flesh and Blood
- Demonstrated knowledge of MtG singles market and trends
- High aptitude for math
- Available to work weekends
Primary Duties include:
- Managing our TCG singles inventory to be accurate and organized at all times
- Grading, sorting and pricing customer submitted collections
- Pulling orders for in store pickup
- Packaging and shipping online orders
- Using a machine sorter when appropriate
- Manipulating spreadsheets and data to assist organization
- Keeping up with clear and timely communication with customers about buys and sales
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area for the benefit of the team
Our ideal applicant is:
Organized. Our inventory moves fast and it is imperative that one is able to keep things properly organized and clear for all who are pulling from or adding to it.
Detail oriented. There are many details that need to be considered when properly maintaining our inventory and pulling inventory for sales. Knowing what to look for and when will help you to be efficient and accurate.
Experienced with selling on TCGPlayer.com. This is one of the places we sell and it would be a great benefit to have an understanding of this platform. Additionally, familiarity with selling on Ebay.com is a huge plus.
Self motivated and driven. There are many different tasks that will be present on any given day. Being able to identify and prioritize what is needed is key. You must know how to move from one task to the next in a way that is most efficient and productive.
Experienced packaging and mailing cards. We ship many packages a day, so an understanding of best practices and knowledge of the mail system is a huge plus.
This position is part-time (20-25 hours per week) to start.
Advancement to full time based on performance
$16-$20 per hour depending on experience
