Job description
- Assist in the development and monitoring of data quality control procedures and applications.
- Work with external clients/vendors and internal employees to extract data from APIs and RDBMS .
- Manage data reporting to be faster and more user friendly.
- Modify SSIS® packages as needed.
- Maintain inventory of computing assets.
- Assist users in procuring and maintaining computers.
- Assist IT with installing and configuring third party software.
- Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Smithfield Hog Production subscribes.
- Incumbent will be responsible for understanding and complying with company SIPS, EMS and BMS policies and procedures while performing their job duties.
- Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.
- Read and understand the company’s emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in Data Science, Biometrics, Biology, Animal Science or related field and 2+ years’ relevant experience, required.
- Experience collecting, organizing and managing data sets, preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, manage multiple projects and prioritize objectives.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively on data driven web based projects with emphasis on data visualization.
- Experience developing data driven websites.
- Experience managing git and GitHub®
- Proficiency in developing web applications with asp.net®, Visual Basic®, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other relevant languages.
- Proven understanding of relational database design and the SQL query language.
- Familiarity working in a command line environment like Linux.
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
- Ability to sit in one location for up to 8-9 hours per day.
- Willing to occasionally visit farms/sites to help train employees on web app usage, troubleshoot apps and/or install hardware.
