Position Description:

Torch Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Architecture program support to the Aviation Mission Systems and Architecture Project Office, Technical Management Division (TMD) and interface daily with military and civilian personnel and other contractor personnel in a team environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide recommendations for development and implementation of appropriate policy measures to achieve PM AMSA systems engineering and architecture goals.

Responsible for updating/implementing policies or core working practices and providing clear leadership and direction to personnel, as directed by management

Promote best practices in PM AMSA in the areas of development and implementation of a technical program strategy, development of the system performance specification, and integration of key design considerations into the system performance specification.

Support efforts in requirements identification and development, including the identification of key/critical interfaces with associated data rights strategies.

Conduct research into commercial, government, academic, and international best practices for architecture strategies and leverage other efforts where possible.

Support the development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software and hardware system integration testing, assist TMD staff to perform analysis of integration results to assess system impacts.




Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of systems engineering and the ability to collaborate and build consensus with senior level staff at PEO Aviation, Engineering Directorate, and sister Project Offices.

Knowledge and experience utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to support PM AMSA’s goal of implementing a Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA).

Experience applying systems engineering processes for the development and documentation of system and test requirements and assessment/verification requirements.

Knowledge of Army regulations, acquisition policies and precedents, program goals and objectives, and work processes.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work effectively and well with others.

Experience with real-time safety critical systems, embedded systems, and open systems architectures

Ability to successfully comprehend and adhere to technical and operational standards/processes.

Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Above average knowledge of Microsoft Programs, to include, but not limited to Outlook, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Bachelors or Masters Degree and 10-15 years of applicable Army acquisition experience.
