Job description
Under the supervision of the IT Manager and Sr. Network Engineer, the Systems Administrator assists Fenway Staff head office and remote locations with support including specifications, installation and testing of computer systems, server maintenance, phone system, group policy deployment, and peripherals within established guidelines.
Representative Duties:
- Systems Administration
- Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with phone system, backup system, or servers
- Works with IT Manager on assigned budget items, and equipment purchases
- Assesses functional needs to determine specifications for purchases.
- Monitor and Maintain current Citrix environment
- Maintains VOIP telephone system, Call-routing, and call-handling.
- Maintain and monitor all servers within the network
- Works with other IT Admin staff to perform security compliance, on-site audits and account audits to ensure proper hardware and software upkeep at all Fenway locations.
- Back up to Senior Network Engineer as needed
- Manages system backups, SAN replication, and Disk management for Virtual environment.
- Continually performs Quality Assurance of physical devices, performing maintenance when necessary
- Other duties as required.
2. Helpdesk
- Assist staff with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of peripheral equipment and software.
- Assist staff with phone routing, or call-handling changes requested.
- Provides third level support to helpdesk tickets.
- Optimizes computer usage by researching and recommending enhancements to system capabilities and performance.
3. New Hire Administrations
- Provides backup for account/email/phone creation in the event of the Jr. Admin being absent.
- Provides new hire orientation on a rotational basis
4. Meets agency participatory expectation
- Adheres to all agency and departmental policies and procedures.
- Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities as requested.
- Adheres to the highest principles of patient and client confidentiality.
- Adheres to established safety policies, procedures and precautions; identifies potential or actual unsafe situations in the environment and takes measures to rectify the situation.
- Attends all required meetings, in-services and professional trainings.
- Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activities.
- Serves on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited School of Computer or Information Science required

Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of firewall technology
- Demonstrable knowledge of diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems.
- Demonstrated ability with written and verbal technical support
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors and visitors to facility
- Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals
- Experience working in an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse environment preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment
