Role and Responsibilities

We are the German subsidiary of one of the world's leading providers of simulation and training technology for pilots and flying personnel. We develop, produce and support state-of-the-art training equipment for flight and land simulation as well as networked simulation applications. General Responsibilities
The System Manager M-346is the CAE Customer Service representative and the focal point of contact for contractual, technical, and operational matters towards the customer as well as into the CAE organization.
Tasks
The System Manager M-346:
  • Is the focal POC for the customer of the respective training device
  • Is the line manager of the onsite maintenance teams. (not to enclose future disciplinary responsibilities)
  • Captures and analyzes necessary engineering changes to the training system
  • Is responsible for planning and scheduling engineering changes in close cooperation with the customer and the engineering department within the CAE EMEA region, but to include CAE Inc./ CAE US as well
  • Schedules and monitor project execution and is the main POC during the project phase
  • Participates in regular meetings with the customer
  • Participates in contract negotiations with the customer
  • Is responsible for the project budget and regularly reports the project status during monthly PMRs
  • Conducts the obsolescence management
  • Strives to achieve synergies between different projects
  • Supports the Strategy and business development department during all phases and in accordance with the L2A process
  • Travels frequently to accommodate meetings with customers and to visit the training sites
  • works closely with TSSE
Recommended Experience
Preferably five (5) years or more experience in the flight simulation or aviation industry or experience as an aviator on a preferably military platform. Ideally has served in Armed Forces at officer level
Background or solid understanding of Flight Simulation, Military Training Systems, Government Procurement mechanisms, and Project Management.
Management skills to:
  • deal with customers of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds
  • deal with different suppliers, subcontractors and simulator manufacturers
  • Driven, motivated, positive with good communication and language skills.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Degree in aeronautical, computer, electronics, mechanical or industrial engineering or economics with MBA or equivalent experience.
  • Management training: Cost Analysis, Project Management, Purchases, Finance, Support Contracts etc.
  • Leadership training
  • Proficient in using Microsoft (Office) products
Language skills:
  • native or near -native in both spoken and written German (Common European Framework C2)
  • highly proficient in both spoken and written English (Common European Framework C1)
  • very good command in both spoken and written Italian (Common European Framework B2)
