JOB ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Identify opportunity for improvement in Mosaic’s sustainability performance in material areas. Coordinate with business units to develop the case for change as to each item and a plan for doing so. Obtain buy-in from the sustainability team, the SLT and other stakeholders as appropriate. Lead efforts to execute and build systems for accountability on those areas of improvement. Serve as a liaison to other areas within the company, government offices, and other partners and stakeholders. Identify key corporate, government, and non-government organizations (NGOs) and develop and maintain relationships as appropriate to strengthen Mosaic’s reputation.

Develop, maintain and build governance for companywide data and narrative information collection system, establish relationships throughout the company, develop and report on performance metrics, push forward on internal and external goals, and work throughout Mosaic to otherwise implement sustainability plans. Analyze data and close reporting gaps where appropriate.

Coordinate annual sustainability report and other reporting (including Global Reporting Initiative, major sustainability performance surveys), and solicit external recognition. This includes story development, data analysis, writing, coordinating visual components, and overall project management.

Represent Mosaic as the “face” of our sustainability work with a wide range of constituents, including the company’s Board of Directors, the SLT and employees, as well many external stakeholders). Create and manage joint partnerships with key NGOs. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in furtherance of the company’s sustainability, social responsibility, and public affairs initiatives. Assist with activities of Social Responsibility and Public Affairs staffs as requested.

Lead, develop and coach employees in order to retain and expand organizational talent through focused attention and effort. Provide timely and constructive feedback on a regular basis to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles and the business. Manage performance issues when necessary. Other duties/projects as assigned.

Sustainability, Engineering, Science, Information Technology, Public Policy, Business or Liberal Arts preferred
EXPERIENCE – YEARS & TYPE
REQUIRED
7+ years of progressive experience in sustainability, environmental policy or research, public policy, social responsibility, business analysis or related fields. Of these 7+ years of experience, at least three years must be in sustainability.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
REQUIRED
- Strong data analysis skills are required
- Experience working with NGOs, community decision makers, and opinion leaders is desired.
- Familiarity with the Global Reporting Initiative and related sustainability trends is preferable.
- Knowledge of global water and food security issues is a plus.
COMPUTER/TECHNICAL LITERACY
REQUIRED
- Strong computer skills, which includes proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Internet research skills are required
