We are looking for a Surgical pathologist to join the team at our Elmwood Park, NJ location.

Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:30am–5:00pm, with rotating weekend coverage

Position Summary:
BioReference Health, LLC is seeking a full time surgical pathologist with strong diagnostic skills to join our busy reference laboratory practice. Additional expertise or fellowship training in GU pathology is preferred. Additional subspecialty expertise will also be considered. Qualifications include an M.D. / D.O. degree with Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) (preferred) board certification or eligibility. NJ and NY licensure or eligibility is also required.

Position Responsibilities

Duties may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

• Daily anatomic pathology sign-out, including interpretation of immunohistochemical and specials stains as well as other ancillary testing as indicated.
• Provision of consultation for clinicians regarding laboratory results.
• Supervision of gross examination and dissection of more complex surgical pathology specimens.
• Participation in peer review
• Participation in quality control and quality assurance activities
• Participation in proficiency testing
• Maintains or achieves board certification and licensure including required CME activities
• Maintains strong and favorable relationships with referring physicians and staff
• Strong communication skills; verbal and documentation are required

Required Credentials and Experience:

• MD or DO in good standing
• Board certified in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)
• GU pathology fellowship training
• Minimum of 1 year post-training experience in GU Pathology
• Must have active NJ and NY medical licensure (or eligible to obtain them prior to being hired)

Required Qualifications:

• Pathologist with some Uropathology experience post residency
• Ability to make complex scientific judgments
• Strong customer focus and understanding of laboratory operations
• Ability to communicate with high level decision makers in the organization
• Personal adaptability and ability to lead change
• Experience or training with breast pathology or cytology is a plus
