Supervisor, Distribution - Apex, NC

The Blueprint (Role Summary)

The Supervisor, Distribution, will manage the daily operations of a distribution center to ensure timely fulfillment of orders delivering on customer commitments while delivering on financial commitments. S/he will manage a team of distribution center associates including the scheduling of work hours, delegation of work, and other managerial related tasks.

The Build (Key Responsibilities)

• 
  Collaborates with management to maintain budgets and provide recommendations on capital expenditures, labor, and other items needed to deliver improved results
• 
  Manages all distribution center associates including the scheduling of work, hours, and shifts to maximize production efficiency and ensure fulfillment of orders
• 
  Provides direction to team leads and distribution center associates, assigning tasks and evaluating the performance of team members on an ongoing basis
• 
  Leads continuous improvement projects to ensure process improvements focusing on internal logistics and material handling to eliminate waste and improve costs
• 
  Oversees the inventory cycle count and physical inventory programs to ensure accuracy and may occasionally audit the process and findings to validate results
• 
  Runs ad hoc and recurring reporting to conduct comprehensive analyses leading to value insights and opportunities for continuous improvement projects
• 
  Conducts training activities to ensure maximum associate efficiency
• 
  Daily coordination of shipping, receiving, and freight forwarding

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
• 
  5+ years’ related work experience, preferably in a distribution environment within a global organization with operations in different regions
• 
  In-depth knowledge of SAP, BW, and Microsoft Office products
• 
  Excellent interpersonal, leadership, verbal, and written skills at all levels
• 
  Change management experience, including the ability to create buy-in
• 
  Demonstrated ability to use problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5 Why)
