• Educate participants on proper swim techniques, promote swimmer safety, and teach new skills
• Adapt teaching approaches to age, experience, and ability of participants to meet level objectives
• Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with department guidelines, prepare lesson plans accordingly, maintain reports, and support members and program participants in achieving their goals
• Demonstrate professionalism in all forms of communications, such as in-person and emails
• Ability to be punctual, organized, approachable, and energetic
• Preferred: previous swim instruction experience

Minimum Requirements: Ability to swim and knows all four competitive swim strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly).

• Must be at least 16 years old (Don't meet the age requirement?! Email us to inquire about our junior swim instructor program).
• A minimum of 15 hours of weekly availability. Must be available to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Attend required staff meetings and training.
• Ability to remain calm in emergencies, communicating quickly and effectively while providing emergency response.
