Job Summary
The Substance Use/Mental Health Specialist is responsible for the provision of clinical therapeutic services to patients assigned to the CBI Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (F/ACT) team. The Substance Use/Mental Health Specialist will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients (and their families) who are assigned to the F/ACT team. Each area below is defined by specific function as it relates to policy, process, and the governing rules set forth by the Department of Behavioral Health Services (DBHS), Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA), Bureau of Medical facilities Licensing (BMFL), and the Code of Federal Regulations. Each employee will be held accountable and responsible for fulfilling each of these duties as well as having the capability to carry them out.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field related Behavioral Health or 1 year of clinical experience in substance abuse treatment. Master’s Degree is preferred but not required. Preference given to master’s degree in field related to behavioral health and/or has been licensed at the associate level with The Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as Psychologist, Social worker, Counselor, Marriage and family therapist or Substance Abuse Counselor.
- 1-3years of full-time Health Care related work experience where his or her prior experience would provide adequate exposure to both behavioral and medical crisis situations is preferred but not required.
- Current AZ Driver’s License (valid and in good standing).
- Clear39-month Motor Vehicle Record required.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
- Licensure at the associate or independent level with The Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as Psychologist, Social worker, Counselor, Marriage and family therapist or Substance Abuse Counselors preferred.
- If associate licensed, participation clinical supervision per the AzBBHE.
- If non-degreed or non-licensed, completion of CBI training and/or certification program and participation clinical oversight.
