The successful candidate will be employed as a student assistant.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of 3 months.
The option to extend the contract is available and desirable.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 6-8 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 12,00 € per hour.

The Institute of Highway Engineering is proven and recognized as a research institution in the pavement engineering with respect to a scientific- and application-oriented research. We are involved in numerous national and international research and development projects in interdisciplinary cooperation or even in collaboration with international universities. We publish research papers to enable a profound exchange of knowledge with other institutions. English is generally used as the scientific language of research and communication to enable all researchers a participation and information transfer. Additionally, English is increasingly used as the primary language of teaching in lectures.

Ihr Profil

• Excellent English language skills as native speaker or comparable (language level: C2) required, German language skills advantageous
• Candidates with published articles are given priority
• Enrolled student in the field of Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering and Mobility or a thematically related course of study advantageous
• 3rd semester bachelor's degree or higher
• Independent and reliable way of working
• Interest in current research topics and projects of our institute
• Intended minimum duration of the engagement: 1 year

Ihre Aufgaben

The main tasks will include:

• Supporting the scientific team of our institute in the preparation of scientific publications in English with regard to format guidelines and other requirements
• Contributing, reviewing, and correcting research proposals and publications with regard to the linguistic nuances of the English language
• Supporting the preparation of lecture and exercise materials in English
