Vattenfall has made a strong commitment and in order to deliver on our bold ambitions we are now looking to strengthen our corporate environmental team within Vattenfall’s strategic function. The team currently consists of around 15 environmental professionals from different backgrounds. We are an open and engaged group working in an existing international environment.

We are now looking for a passionate strategic advisor with biodiversity expertise.

As our strategic advisor you will play an important role in the transition to a fossil free society and you will work in an organization where you are able to use your knowledge to impact towards a more sustainable future. As a strategic advisor you will be in a position where you have the possibilities to influence Vattenfall’s direction and make a meaningful impact.

Your main tasks:

• Be a part of the team that are accountable for the Environmental Strategic Project portfolio where you will be responsible for developing projects as a part of Vattenfall’s roadmap towards “a biodiversity net positive impact by 2030”
• Act as interface to relevant internal and external stakeholders. You will secure cross-organizational collaborations and interaction within the whole Vattenfall Group, seek new ways to collaborate with external partners and be responsible of various communication activities
• Provide knowledge and expertise, both within ecology and on broader environmental topics. You will monitor and evaluate developments within the environmental field with main focus on biodiversity and incorporate your knowledge and insights into the projects you lead
• Assist in assessing consequences of legal developments connected to the EU Biodiversity Strategy and other legal developments that impact the area of biodiversity

Your profile

You as a person

You have the ability to break down complex challenges to more manageable pieces, targets and actions. You are structured and have the ability to prioritize and plan realistically. You are a skilled project manager who enjoys working in a multi-stakeholder environment and you have the ability to motivate others to work towards the same goals. You also have strong verbal and written communication skills and an outgoing personality that is aligned with our principles: Active, Open, Positive and Safety.

Qualifications:

• Relevant bachelor or master degree (e.g. Environmental/Ecology, Natural Science or Engineering Discipline) or similar
• Experience in a similar position in an international environment, preferable in consultancy companies or within corporate strategy/sustainability/environment
• Experience in working with project management
• Knowledge about biodiversity accounting within the financial sector (e.g. reporting initiatives and frameworks like TNFD)
• Experience from working with business initiatives and frameworks (e.g. Science Based Targets for nature)
• Fluent oral and written English and a good command of Swedish

Meritorious

• Broad understanding of methodologies to measure biodiversity
• Experience in working with Environmental Impact Assessment

Location: Preferably Stockholm (Solna). Other Vattenfall main locations can be discussed. Travelling will be required.
