ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform manual and clerical duties in connection with material control, shipping, and receiving;
  • Pack finished and wrapped products in cardboard, wooden boxes, cartons or other containers for shipment or storage;
  • May stock or otherwise arrange the articles in a container using appropriate packing materials as necessary to prevent breakage or damage;
  • Check all shipping, receiving and material control paperwork for accuracy and completeness
  • Receive incoming materials into stockroom and able to lift materials of 50lbs without assistance
  • Maintain manual or computerized records, files and documents by verifying, and posting information covering parts and materials received, disbursed and on-hand
  • Prepare and/or process various Company and departmental forms using standard office equipment and personal computer
  • Issue materials to the shop floor promptly and courteously
  • Provide assistance and support to all department team members with material issues, shipping, receiving and stockroom requirements
  • Identifies carriers, freight charges and schedules carrier for pick-ups
  • Administration of materials and commodities from receipt of goods to issuing to the factory, including inventory control, kitting and shipping when required;
  • Responsible for production and non-production material stores including packaging, storage, count and traceability by serial/part number when required;
  • Store and track customer furnished equipment and materials;
  • Counts, sorts incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisitions or invoices. 2
  • Stores articles in bins, floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of items.
  • Fills orders or issues supplies from stock.
  • Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock.
  • Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
  • Distributes stock to production leads, keeping records of material issued.
  • Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.
  • Maintains inventory and other stock records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Follows company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, packing and stockroom processes and procedures
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and expedite materials
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to operate a computer with knowledge of Excel and Office
  • Two years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
