Robinson, Farmer, Cox (RFC) was founded in 1953, as a Firm of Certified Public Accountants. RFC provides tax preparation and consultation, financial statement audits and consulting services throughout Virginia across six offices. RFC serves governments, individuals, businesses, and non-profit entities recognizing that each client is unique and important.
Staff Accountant position performing a wide variety of accounting and auditing related tasks under the supervision of a senior accountant, manager or an officer of the Firm. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Staff Accountant duties require travel throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, variable work schedules and the ability to act in a professional and confidential manner.
Staff Accountant Job Duties:
- Participates in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports;
- Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses;
- Performs various tests of assets, liabilities, revenues, expenditures and others accounts;
- Prepares Spreadsheets relevant to audit assignment;
- Develops “management letter” comments;
- Prepares audit adjusting entries;
- Communicates with clients concerning audit matters after consultation with supervisor;
- Staff Accountant prepares federal and state tax returns for review; and
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by a supervisor.
Requisite Knowledge, Skills & Abilities for Staff Accountant
- Staff Accountant candidate must have a degree in accounting;
- Understanding of detailed concepts of commercial and governmental accounting;
- Ability to analyze data quickly from a variety of sources;
- Ability to organize and schedule tasks to completion;
- Ability to verbally communicate ideas in both small and large group settings;
- Ability to gain and maintain confidence of clients;
- Understanding of operations of local governments; and
- Familiarity with a wide variety of PC based software including WP, spreadsheet, and database.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
