Come join a friendly and diverse team that provides quality support to more than 80 programs! Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for a full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Staff Accountant in Worcester.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for full range of general ledger accounting, reporting and system maintenance.
Responsibilities:
  • Understand and apply general accounting policies and procedures.
  • Work independently with minimal supervisory support.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Work efficiently with accounting software, email, spreadsheet software and office equipment.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Complete work in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of any and all accounting records, sharing information with only authorized persons on a "need to know" basis.
  • Monthly analysis and reconciliation accounts to the general ledger as assigned.
  • Prepare and enter standard and general journal entries as appropriate.
  • Prepare analysis and reports as assigned.
  • File and maintain supporting accounting records.
  • Provide timely and accurate information upon request.
  • Support and provide back-up for payroll and payables functions as needed and/or as assigned.
  • Provide assistance and support as needed for outside auditors
  • Ability to read policies, procedures, correspondence, written instruction, and memorandums.
  • Ability to write correspondence and simple instructions.
  • Ability to discuss information to others in person or on the phone.
  • Mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in various units of measure, including fractions, percentages and decimals.
  • Ability to use computer accounting, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
  • Ability to use office equipment including copy machines, computers, printers, telephones and four drawer vertical filing cabinets.

Qualifications:
  • Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or finance or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience that demonstrates accounting knowledge and accounting practice.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
