Job Summary
As a Senior Lead Software Engineer (Cloud Platforms) at JPMorgan Chase, within the CORPORATE & INVESTMENT BANK, PROGRAM ENGINEERING team, you will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. The Cloud Engineering organization, in Corporate Investment Banking (CIB), is focused on accelerating cloud adoption, enhancing developer experience and accelerating modernization of applications by building and enhancing tools and platforms to increase efficiency, reduce operational overhead and improve developer productivity. We are looking for someone who can identify opportunities for improvement, architect and develop solutions and partner with our stakeholders, partners and customers to drive implementation and adoption.
You will be hands on developing tools and platforms aimed at improving the developer experience for thousands of developers within our organization. You'll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists spread across the globe, who are focused on building solutions to provide paved paths for our application developers on their cloud migration journey
Job responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of the cloud infrastructure offerings and platform tools, ensuring that they are secure, scalable, and reliable
- Collaborate with development teams to enable the delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable applications on the cloud
- Identify areas of improvement and prioritize initiatives that align with business goals and objectives
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the cloud engineering team
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cloud technologies and bring in recommendations for adoption and implementation of new tools/technologies
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements for the cloud
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
- Experience in cloud engineering and or cloud platform development roles
- Hands-on experience with one or more cloud computing platform providers AWS/Azure/GCP. Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning Tools like Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane & Cloud Formation etc
- Advanced knowledge of Containerization and Container Runtime/Orchestration platforms (Docker/Kubernetes/ECS etc)
- Proficiency with programming languages like Golang, Python, Java, JS/TS etc and understand software development best practices
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD/SCM tools like Jenkins, Spinnaker, Bitbucket / Github etc and experience with logging and monitoring tools Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus etc
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure design and architecture and cloud migration strategies
- Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices, shift left methodologies and DevSecOps processes
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience implementing multi-cloud architectures
- Certifications in target areas (Cloud/Kubernetes/IaC etc)
