The Senior Accountant role involves managing accounting for receivables, payables, and contract management, including monitoring projects and analyzing costs against plans to identify variances. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and execute projects effectively. We are looking for someone with 4+ years of experience working in a large public company and Big 4 Audit experience preferred. The role requires working with various departments of the organization, performing month-end close routines, and supporting project accounting reporting and analysis. This hybrid role is is based at 77 Westport Plaza, St. Louis MO 63146.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible to work with Product Management and Operations to regularly monitor projects and recognition and deferral of revenue and costs
- Perform month-end close routines, including preparing journal entries, reconciling inventory perpetual records, and preparing account reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly margin and expense variance analysis; support the controllers to prepare financial cost analysis.
- Analyze financial transactions for errors or deficiencies, takes action to resolve / correct disconnects, and implements improvements to prevent recurrences.
- Support project accounting reporting and analysis by ensuring proper set-up in the ERP system and monitoring transactions to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Special projects as assigned.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting
- 4+ years experience working in a large public company preferred
- Big 4 Audit experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- A self-starter who can work independently and execute projects effectively
- An individual able to work hands on within the various departments of the organization and communicate effectively up the chain of command.
