Optima Family Services Inc. is looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Clinical Fellows who are seeking an opportunity to develop their clinical skills by providing our specialized services to our families in their communities. Our Specialized Services program includes Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy, designed for families with Children 0-36 months of age that have a medical condition, an established developmental delay, or are at risk for developmental delay.

Position summary
Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, our Speech-Language Pathologist provides prevention, assessment, and remediation services for clients who experience language delays. These services are designed to help children meet their developmental goals.

*** This position is for pathologists working in different areas in the LA county/San Gabriel Valley/Inland Empire Regions ***

Major Functions & Responsibilities

  • Use all required testing tools, do Intake Evaluations and initial assessments, progress reports, specific assessments, and consultations.
  • Develop, implement and coordinate SLP services for clients ages 0-3 years old.
  • Evaluate clients using appropriate tests, skilled professional observation and supplementary information from other agencies and records.
  • Interpret assessment findings and appropriately convey information to parents and any other agencies providing services for the client.
  • Drive from home to home to provide the services in the area assigned.

Qualifications

Education & experience requirements

  • Evidence of completion of a master's degree program in speech and language pathology from an institution listed in the "Accredited Institutions of Post-secondary Education" handbook issued by the American Council on Education.
  • SLP licensed to work in California
  • Experience working with children is preferred, but not required.

Other requirements

  • Ability to drive, access to a registered car, a valid driver’s license, and valid auto insurance.
  • Ability to adapt to different environments as job requires to make sessions at the family’s home, school or community.
  • Good communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19]
  • Bilingual Preferred
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • US work authorization is a must.
  • Bilingual in any language, at least conversational, is required
  • Experience driving home-to-home and dealing with different family environments is preferred, but not required.
