Job Description:
L3Harris is looking for a Buyer to join its Procurement Team, Duties include:
- Prepares requests for quotes/proposals consistent with the requirements of the prime contract.
- Analyzes suppliers’ proposals, selects or recommends suppliers, negotiates prices, schedules and terms & conditions, awards POs, ensures on-time delivery, verifies delivery, approves payment and maintains necessary records.
- Procures Electro-Mechanical components and COTS.
- Contact suppliers for RMA, assist with placing repairs orders and outside manufacturing orders/services.
- Negotiate priorities with suppliers, with the ability to change contract dates on purchase orders to meet program need dates
- Liaison between suppliers and L3Harris to organize, coordinate and manage purchase orders for all non-subcontract efforts.
- Review supplier performance and manage on-time delivery.
- Track status of parts and follow up on past due deliveries / commitments.
- Frequently meets with internal company and external contacts to represent the organization on specific projects.
- Develops new sources of supply based on quality product, on-time delivery and competitive pricing.
- Documents procurements in accordance with Company policy to ensure acceptable internal and government audit results
- Expedite material to improve working capital and resolve all floor shortages.
- Work with suppliers and Accounts Payable department to close supplier invoice issues and resolve open commitments.
- Work with Vendor Management to Add Suppliers in the System
- Ability to assist buyers with administrative duties including parts tracking, resolution of receiving discrepancies, obtaining packing lists, etc.
- Contact suppliers for RMA, assist with placing repairs orders and outside manufacturing orders/services.
- Frequently meets with internal company and external contacts to represent the organization on specific projects.
- Attend meetings & conference calls with programs to manage more complex supplier quality/delivery issues.
- Negotiate priorities with suppliers, with the ability to change contract dates on purchase orders to meet program need dates
- Utilize MRP system and Supplier Portal applications, Vendor Add Creation, NDA.
- Assist in development of strategic supplier relationships.
- Participate in projects/teams as assigned.
- Attend meetings & conference calls with programs to manage more complex supplier quality/delivery issues.
- Participate and contribute to departmental and company-wide process improvements and lean initiatives.
Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree in Supply Chain or Business and minimum 4 years of prior relavant experience or AS/AA degree with a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Knowledge in procurement, supply chain, and or material management processes.
- Prior experience in expediting and following-up.
- Experience with pulling and analyzing data from numerous sources.
- Experience with MRP Tools.
- Experience with The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Excellent communication and written skills.
- High ethical standards.
- PC skills in MS office; with Word, PowerPoint and Advanced Excel formats is essential.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $85,000 - $111,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
