TOTS, a Fedcap program, is currently hiring for a full-time Special Education Teacher - Early Childhood Specialist to assist with our preschool program for children with special needs in the New York, NY area. This teaching position earns a competitive salary of $40,000-70,000 per year.

DAY-TO-DAY
This full-time teaching position in human services works during school hours.
As a Special Education Teacher - Early Childhood Specialist in human services, you work hard to design a classroom environment that's both stimulating and motivating for your students. Each day, you provide a written lesson plan in book form that can be easily stored at the school in case you're absent. You maintain periodic progress scales and attend case conferences for each student throughout the school year. Working alongside other professionals, you implement an approved behavioral system for students and maintain strong working relationships with the coordinator of therapeutic activities.
Additionally, you collaborate with the treatment team regarding each child's treatment plan and diagnostic information. You attend meetings and workshops as well as an annual staff orientation prior to the start of the school year. Using your exceptional organizational skills, you develop and supervise extracurricular activities. You also supervise teaching aides assigned to your classroom. Prior to the completion of the school year, you submit accurately maintained attendance records for students. Teaching is what you were meant to do, and it brings you great fulfillment to know you make such a positive impact on the lives of your students!

REQUIREMENTS FOR A SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER - EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIALIST
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Birth to 2nd and students with disabilities certifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to meet the minimum requirements of the appropriate state Board of Education
- Covid-19 vaccination
