Job Description


For the assigned product categories, the Analyst, Space Planning is responsible for creating/updating planograms to deliver improved assortment productivity that aligns with merchandising strategy intent and enhances the customer shopping experience. As part of the assortment review process, builds planograms to align with the defined assortments for the product division segmentation and the defined visual guidelines and standards. Partners with the Store Experience Team to develop visual standards, guidelines, and policies that serve as a key input to the development of the planograms. Leverages the Blue Yonder Category Management Suite tool set to include Space Planning and other analytics tools to ensure that product placement in planograms maximizes sales, margin, and inventory performance for the assigned categories.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for optimized, segment-specific planograms, aligning with Merchant team intent.
  • Uses Blue Yonder's Space Planning and Floor Planning tools to determine needed versioned planograms.
  • Creates operationally efficient planograms while optimizing micro space.
  • Reviews and audits planograms to ensure that standards are maintained, errors are eliminated, and productivity is optimized.
  • Provides input into the Visual Playbook and Visual Updates used to guide the execution of planograms in stores.
  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the data in the host systems used to create planograms for the assigned categories.
  • Ensures that key deliverables associated with the creation, edit, review and approval of planograms are met in a timely and accurate manner as scheduled.
  • Coordinates with the Floor Planning team to ensure the timely and accurate assignment of planograms to Floor Plans and to Stores.
  • Collaborates with team members to ensure consistency of execution, sharing best practices and developing knowledge of space tools and practices.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on Space Planning and planogram management systems and processes.
  • Participates in special projects, key enterprise initiatives, and system upgrades as requested by leadership.
  • During the monthly Promo Review process, partners with Merchandising and In-store Marketing to set and execute the defined planograms for sign off in the Campus Store.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve analytics and use of existing tools to advance the creation and maintenance of planograms. Makes recommendations for enhancements to space planning leaders.
  • Continues to advance knowledge and use of the tools and reports through on-going training and coaching opportunities. Shares insights/learnings with space planning leaders to develop leading practices to be used across analysts.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of transferable retail experience within Space Management, Merchandising, Assortment, and/or Merchandise Planning required.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office applications, Space Planning, or Planogram tools required.
  • Prior experience with Space Planning Tools [especially Blue Yonder's Category Management Suite to include Space Planning, CKB, and Floor Planning applications preferred]
  • Able to collaborate and work cross-functionally across all levels of the business, as well as capable of working independently with minimal direction and supervision preferred in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Strong time management, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills required.
