Princeton Quadrangle Club is a private institution which provides meals, social events, and study spaces to about one hundred Princeton University upperclassmen. We serve fifteen buffet-style meals during the week (Monday to Sunday) for 26 weeks out of the year. We are looking for a Sous Chef capable of delivering the best dining experience for our members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Help plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
• Help create menus that meet quality standards and member dietary needs
• Supervise kitchen staffs’ activities
• Maintain orderly kitchen and ensure adherence to health and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional relationship with coworkers and members
• Interact with external vendors
• Rectify problems or complaints and report them to Head Chef, Club Manager and Chairman
• Reports to Head Chef

Requirements:

• Proven working experience as a Sous Chef
• Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
• Extensive food knowledge and creativity in food preparation
• Ability to divide responsibilities and monitor progress
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills
• Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
• Credentials in health and safety training
• Culinary Arts Degree
• Servsafe certified

Experience:

Culinary experience: 3 years (Preferred)

Kitchen Management: 1+ years

Restaurant Management: plus

Baking experience is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
